This is LuLu.  She needs a home.

    DSC04305

She is a full bread Healer.  She was born deaf, and was saved from being killed as a puppy.  She was ‘adopted’ by some friends of the breeder to be a shop dog.  However, because of her disability, she was chained up in a garage all day and night because the owners were afraid she would get run over by the machinery because she could not hear it.

Aly and I could not stand it anymore, so we rescued her (against out landlord’s wishes/lease).  Moving is not an option we want to face, so we are keeping her until she finds a home (and hopefully before our landlord finds out and evicts us).

So, if you need a dog, please give her a good home.  She is docile, kind, potty trained.  Like all deaf dogs, she is advantageous for her lack of barking at noise (sirens, other dogs), fearlessness with vacuums, and ability to wake up (it’s funny to wake a dog up, usually you can’t).  All she needs is a little love.

  • you are such good people

  • I love Queensland Healers. My husband had a couple growing up. I wish I could help, but I am across the country and am already +1 dog over our family limit. Have you tried to access a Healer rescue organization?

Sheilster, does Patch need a buddy?

  • Hehe, nope.
I wish we’d known about the evil landlord when my friend who is looking for a heeler pup was in Utah last week!
Again, advertise on deafdogs.org, join the Yahoo group deafdogs, and contact the ACD rescue. They’ll be able to help. The faster you get on it, the better, cause pups are MUCH easier to place than adult dogs. Right, Bentley?

  • awww.. such a cute doggy… i hope she finds a home

  • I hope you guys havent gotten too attached to the dog.  It’s gonna be really hard to get read of it if you have.

Hockey games are so hard to come by. I dont know if ESPN ever picked up a new option to show games. I know NBC signed up to show saturday games towards the end of the season…and OLN. But…I dont have OLN. *sad*. And, HOPEFULLY Fox Sports shows the Ducks (they’re no longer “Mighty”) and the Kings.
