Thank god that month is over. In short, my mind may explode shortly. I’m uber busy; on top of classload, and reserach, and running the student talks, and planning for Italy, I did something a little foolish: I decided to run the Spring Break field trip.
Yup, I’m going back to Death Valley for the 3rd year in a row. Plus, we are going through Owens Valley. Here’s a short list of places we’re gonna go:
Shoshone and Tecopa Hot Springs
Ubehebe crater
Goler Wash (great Snowball Earth deposits)
Mesquite Dunes
Trona Pinnacles
Ridgecrest, CA (my home town)
Fossil Falls
Inyo Crater
Owens River Gorge
Obsidian Dome
Mono LakeSo, all I have to do is plan the route, order the vans, make/copy/distribute the field guide, and be in charge on the trip. Sure, I’ve got all the time in the world. All I know is there will certainly be some attractive females on the trip, and that keeps me motivated. Giggitty Giggitty Gig-git-ty.

Hmmm, im a geologist who’s never gone to Death Valley…somehow that seems wrong. Hmmm.
February is dumb… March is the best month EVER! Especially since March has March 11 (my bday.)
hmmm.. pat and i will be up in mammoth 11(late)-13th… but i think you’ll probably be in death valley… around that time….
hey… our department is running a trip out there at the same time. Jen (your former TA) will be with them so look out for them.
with the dude… i would do some poking around and try and find out who he is and who is he associated with. go up to him after a talk and say “hi i am matt. i see you all the time and wanted to introduce myself and you are????” so maybe that is a bit of a girl thing to do, but it will help you to find out who this dude is and why the hell he has started coming to all the seminars.
